TGIF

What are you doing this weekend? I’m going to buy a bikini, which I know will be traumatizing ( fitting room mirrors are not kind) but other than that, I have no plans.

Here are some bikinis I’ve seen that suit my fancy. No pun intended.

All of these I found on shopbop

Dressing right for your body type

I've gone through a long battle with trying to figure out what styles look good on me. My figure is petite ( a whopping 5'2) and I'm busty, so fashion doesn't cater to my body type. So many trends come and go and I've learned not to jump on them right away. In the past I've wound up with tops that make me look like a tent, or dresses that look like a moo moo. Now I'm more carful to consider what will look best on my figure. I've figured out that fitted cropped styles look best for my body. I've also adapted the look of wearing most of my shirts tucked into my pants, showing off my waste so I don't look bigger than I am. I think taking styling tips from celebrities who have a figure similar to yours helps a lot. I look to Scarlett Johansson, Kim Kardashian and Selma Hayek for inspiration.

Tunes

Music has been a big part of my life ever since I was little. In college I interned at Warner
Music Group hoping to break into the industry. Unfortunately that didn’t happen for me. I entered the music industry when no one was buying music, instead stealing it off the internet, and I was one of the few that held the principle of buying music to support the artists that I loved. Today I spend a lot of time discovering new music on the internet and going to concerts. In August I’ll be going to FYF where I will see some of my favorite bands.

Here are the bands I’m listing to lately:

HAIM- This is an all chick band sister trio that is a mix of Wilson Phillips meets Paul Simon. I’m obsessed.

Phoenix-I just love how you can dance to all there songs

Arcade Fire- There newest able is really really different from the others, a lot more dance-y. I love it. There song Afterlife is by far my favorite and struck emotional chords within me that I cried the first time I heard it.

The Head and the Heart- I went to a house party where they played years ago and the next thing I knew they were huge! I always love a good folky band.

Let me cure your acne woes

If you're like me, you've done every possible thing to cure your acne. I've never had "ACNE", but I struggled with the giant Godzilla bumps that would appear out of nowhere and not go away for days, even weeks leaving behind what I can only describe as a red meteor on my face. After researching for a while I discovered how to clear your acne for good.

Let me start with the MYTH. The myth behind acne is that you need to attack the surface, that the trouble is on the actual skin. WRONG! Acne begins in your gut. No not your conscience, your belly! Acne is the cause of the crap you've been eating, or the good stuff that you haven't been eating enough. Let me introduce you to my little friends.

                                                    Meet Carrot Juice
This friendly vegetable is a key source to keeping your skin acne free. I eat and drink carrot juice regularly and I can promise you, it's nothing but good for your skin!
Here is a list of Yes foods and No foods

YES
Carrots
Red grapes
Kale
Spinach
Miso soup
Cucumber
Fish oil supplements (daily)
Maca supplements (daily)
Lemon water

NO
Sugar
(sugar includes, alcohol, candy deserts)
Caffeine
Dairy
(dairy includes milk, cheese, anything pumped with hormones)
greasy food

If you have a hot date coming up and your face is ridden with acne try this, it WORKS.
Fruit cleanse for a few days. Nothing but fruit and water will clear out your gut. Also, get some epsom salt and pour it into a cool bath. Let the salt dissolve and let your body soak in the salty water. Applying lemon juice to your face will help clear the acne that you all ready have on your face.

There you have it everybody. I promise this works and it has changed my skin.
I would love to hear feedback on how this diet is changing your skin.

It's only the beginning

I consider May in Southern California 'Summer', instead of Spring due to its hot weather. I vowed a couple months ago that this would be the best Summer I've ever had. So far it has proved to be. Gorgeous weather plus amazing friends is such a blessing in my life. Here are some fun things I've been doing around the area.

                                                   Bacara Hotel, Santa Barbara

                                          Cinespia, Hollywood Forever Cemetery Screening

Malibu Wines

Selfishly Selfie

Selfishly selfie is a silly term coined by my friend and business partner Jonathan Lennard. We worked on a short fashion film I produced and he directed, and he decided on that name. You might be wondering why someone would call a fashion film Selfishly Selfie and I'll tell you why. He came up with the idea of doing a fashion short that would be poking fun at girls taking selfies in the most random and silly situations, while wearing great clothes. The final product rests here: www.jonathanlennard.com

This was my first time doing anything like this and I'll tell you, it was difficult, scary at times but very rewarding. I learned a lot. A lot.

Sorry the qualities of these pictures are not the best. I will never forget this experience and I hope to do it again.
Cheers!
